Why Advanced Equipment

Steel where others use gypsum

Every ALPHA® panel is all-welded, all-steel — heavy 16 or 14 gauge faces robotically fusion-welded every 8 inches to the perimeter frame. That construction is why our panels reach 60 feet, carry limited warranties up to 20 years, and keep working decades after installation.

What we recommend you specify: all-welded steel panel faces, 16 gauge minimum. One line in the specification does the work. It rules out gypsum-board and particle-board panel faces, and the lighter-gauge sheets found at the economy end of the market. ALPHA® panels are built to 16 or 14 gauge and carry a limited panel warranty to 20 years.

Common Questions

Answers before you ask

How much sound do operable partitions actually block?

Our ALPHA® all-steel panels are field-tested to NIC 42 under ASTM E 336, with laboratory ratings to STC 54 — and we guarantee field sound ratings on our large operable walls. Sound test reports are available in our document library.

How tall can an operable wall be?

We build one-piece panels up to 60 feet high and up to 60 inches wide — used in convention centers and exhibition halls where standard systems can't reach.
